I was born in Croatia and lived there for the first 35 years of my life. After studying medicine and completing my specialist training, I set up my first practice. At that time, I focused particularly on laser therapy. I was also able to contribute to two specialist books in this context, working with colleagues from all over the world.
In 2003, I moved to Switzerland for personal reasons and resumed my medical career here, initially as an assistant physician. My first position was at the Etzelclinic in Pfäffikon SZ (formerly City Praxis), where I worked under the supervision of Dr. Jan Leuzinger and Dr. Michael Borsky.
Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to live in five different countries—an enriching experience that has shaped my understanding of cultural diversity and interpersonal communication. In addition to my native language, Croatian, I am fluent in German, English, Italian, and Portuguese. It is important to me to be able to communicate with patients in their native language, because language creates closeness and trust. I do not see my patients as “cases,” but as people with individual life paths, questions, and needs. It is very important to me to accompany them holistically, with a clear view of their personal circumstances, prevention, and sustainable health.
Teamwork is very important to me. I am convinced that a respectful, supportive team spirit has a noticeable effect on patients and creates an atmosphere in which everyone feels well cared for.
As a mother of two teenage daughters, I have a strong connection to the younger generation in my everyday life. This helps me to stay open-minded, curious and adaptable, even in a constantly changing medical environment.
In my free time, I enjoy travelling, reading specialist books and spy thrillers, and flying: I am a private pilot with instrument flight certification and a licence for multi-engine aircraft.
My goal is to support my patients individually and respectfully, combining professional expertise with a personal touch. I listen with an open ear and an open heart, keeping my focus on what really matters: health in all its facets.
